The car granting Genie is back. He catches you while you're bored, during your daily commute or going about some mundane routine task in your automobile and he says, "I'll grant you any race car you want, any racing car from today backwards, but you must do at least 75% of your driving in this race car; it's your new Daily Driver!" What do you do when the Genie is all like, "WHAT DO YOU DO?!"

Pratt & Miller built C6.R. Built to run for awhile (as opposed to some race cars that need engine rebuilds after damn near every race), probably uses a pushrod V8 that could be "easily" serviced and maintained, and fast enough to keep you entertained. Plus, with a spoiler delete and graphics removal, people on the street wouldn't expect anything more than what they'd expect from a regular 'vette.

Perfect combination of bonkers and practical. On the one side you've got over 700 horsepower, a top speed of over 150, and the ability to go pretty much anywhere quickly. On the flip side you've got what is already a completely road legal car, with lights, wipers, heat/AC, a spacious, comfortable cabin, an engine that won't overheat in city traffic, some amount of cargo space, and a suspension that won't kill your back when you hit a pothole.

I love this car-granting Genie.

What I would really want:

F2004, quite possibly the single all-around fastest race car ever built, and it still holds a ton of GP records, right before F1 cars had their balls cut off.

But let's be honest, that's a little impractical for a daily driver, so here's my next pick, the next best thing:

The Legendary orange McLaren F1 GT-R, the same one that was at the P1 reveal. Seriously, 3 seats, reliable engine, advanced technology, and known to reach 100,000 miles if serviced properly. The GT-R versions were just a little more crazy, but still designed to take the abuse.

And then, moving down the scale to "race car based on production car" we arrive at:

The 700+ HP 1981 Bob Sharp racing 280ZX driven by Paul Newman, using a twin-turbo Y44 motor de-stroked down to 4.2liters (supposedly) and two parallel turbos.

I'm surprised nobody has chosen the finest touring car ever to grace the earth: the V8 Supercar. I am somewhat partial to this earlier model, since they are still every bit as fast as the new ones but this one looks totally badass. And 4 opening doors, and a functional boot with cargo space. Perfect.

5.0l V8, very reliable since they run the same race engines almost all year including for the Enduro races, and a 6 speed manual.
